As she laid out on the cold hard floor, deeply frustrated about the decisions she was about to make, “How can this be, everything’s all juggled up, time has been stolen” she said.
Doubt and uncertainty crowding her thoughts, she started to weep, “I never should have believed I...” she started to think.
Suddenly, a voice said, “You’re not a quitter!”
Looking around her with anxiety written all over her face, she began to search for who was with her in that cold lonely room. Everyone had left her behind, seeing that she had no ambition in life , “how could she possibly hear a voice other than hers” she thought. Fear raced through her heart and just then she figured she must have been hallucinating. With the broken bottles of vodka all around her,she definitely couldn’t have been thinking in the right order. She crawled back to her position of uncertainty and frustration, lamenting all her worries before she took the final step to the end of time.
Just then she heard again “You’re not a quitter”
Still in her assumption of hallucination, she ignored. A part of her seemed to drag back on what she had just heard, but the other side was enticing, she wanted to leave. Leave time and all it’s properties.
As she was on her journey to leave time behind, she felt a sudden subtle touch on her shoulders. “Ada don’t leave me behind” she heard a voice say.
“Give me all of you and I’ll do the same “
This time, she could feel the tangibility of what she just heard and she turned to see who was behind her.
She saw no one.
“Am I dreaming?” She thought to herself
Little did she know that although she wanted to give up on time, time didn’t give up on her
“Ada get up and explore the world, there is much room for you in there.” the voice said.
“Don’t leave me behind Ada” the voice began to fade away slowly, the echoes rising louder and louder filling the room, pacing through the thoughts of Ada.
“Fine, I won’t leave, I’d stay. But only if you show me how to live.” Ada murmured
She waited for two minutes,
She heard nothing,
The only echo that filled her mind was “You’re not a quitter”
Ada made her decision, but it was a decision different from the first. She would stay and figure out how to live.
Little did she know that she had started the journey of something new.
