Not A QUITTER| Writer's Challenge| Akorede B.A
Latest update
Just as always, I was about to quit writing; or at least this piece.
I had been rejected so many times, I had the door slammed in my face; so often
that it felt weird whenever a door was open.
I was not always like this, life had made me into one with no wits, it was only sad
that I had no wins as well.
I was a writer, I was a winner; it hurts that everyone else sees me as a weakling; a
feeble boar who could not roar but was identified by only loud squeaks even
among an entire swine.
Hold up,
When did I get so low that I was described as a weak pig?
Yes, I have heard NO so many times, but so far as blood still flows in these veins, I
would give it another go.
The doors may be closed, or my nose made flat from the slams; that is still not
enough reason to stand down, besides even junkyards have doors.
Multi-vitamins were going to help me go one more time, they were better than
motivational speakers who spoke as though they never had challenges.
My multi-vitamins were a diet of hope, positivity, hard work, resilience and mental
agility. I stopped waiting for a remark from anyone that way I stopped being
denied. I kept walking down the hallway, peeked through few key holes to learn of
the activities going on behind the closed doors.
Many take a look at me and refer to me as a pace setter, a game changer; only few
knew how I had been left to burn in the flames, now that it has brought me fame all
I can say is: keep going.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!
Ever cared to ask yourself where you are going to?
Have a sit, review your plans, take a deep breath, discover the impossible
outcomes, deprive everyone else of the right to tell you no.
I wrote my first book complete even before I completely read any book, I had my
book downsized by publishers and sponsors asked me to pick up another hustle.
Mentors and pastors said I had misplaced my priorities, family started losing hope.
Even I began to have doubts.
Then there came God, He said:
Be still and Lo I am God.
Still sounds like Gold, the feeling never gets Old. I became Bold and had the Guts
to Hold my dreams in my hands. I had my book published by the best of Printers, I
set myself on a Journey to win.
To be a success, you have got to pick up that baton and run the race. Do not
assume life is like Fifa Manager, where you flick a button or two and you expect to
be out of Danger. Get involved and teach yourself to evolve. Because if you do not
do it, your issues would not be resolved.
Take a fierce look at your failures and declare boldly that you ain’t gonna Quit,
cause quitters never win and in Trying alone can you Win.
